Can I just say that vacation days in the middle of the week are a great idea! And Remembrance day is a good reason for a Holiday!
Yesterday I woke up early, went to school to attend to some things that couldn’t wait, came home, showered, got ready and was done by 9:30am. I had the whole day ahead of me! So after a moment of silence, I read Flanders Field and then I went Christmas Shopping with Vanessa. We got 85% of our shopping done, which is pretty impressive for me because I am always a last minute shopper. We were done by 1:30.
We didn’t have anything else to do and we were in the Christmas mood…so I convinced Vanessa to decorate her house for Christmas!!
Matt (her husband) didn’t want us to decorate the house for Christmas.
His first argument: It’s November! I corrected him. It’s MID November and Christmas Decorating it a lot of work, though enjoyable. What’s the point of putting all that stuff up if you can only enjoy it for a couple weeks?
His second argument: They have a house full of people this weekend and usually they have to put their live seat in the basement to make room for the tree. I promised him that Vanessa and I would make all the furniture work with the tree. No seating would be removed from the room, just re organized.
And we did it! Can I just mention that reclining couches are heavy.
When it was done we took crazy pictures like this:
I had a great day! Unfortunately John had a bad day. Not only did he have to work but he came down with the flu!! He thinks I gave it to him but I think he gave it to himself when he knowingly ate food off my plate while I had the flu…..oh Johnny.
But since he has the flu, he isn’t smoking! AND he bought Patches so that when he’s better he won’t need to smoke! I think it’s a good way to kick start quitting since I imagine the first couple days would be the hardest.
I would love a non-smoking husband…it would be a great Christmas presnt!
