Today is my dear friend Robin’s Birthday. She’s 25…it’s about time.
This picture is from High school: (L to R) Robin, T, Lauren (boo), Me (on floor), Ash and Nicole. I wish I had a picture from grade 5!
In honor of her birthday, I’ve decided to dedicate this post to her! I know she reads everyday…but she doens’t comment. Come on Beanie!
Last year of Undergrad University.
Aren’t you dying to know a little bit about her? She’s pretty great!
I met Robin in grade 3 or 5 (I can’t remember), she’s one of my longest friends and the only other friend I have with divorced parents…which I think in and of it’s self explains a lot about our friendship. I call her Beanie. It started being Bin (as in Ro-Bin) and slowly evolved over time. We went to elementary school together, we went to high school together and we lived together in undergrad university. I know she likes yogurt and granola for breakfast, I know she likes to drink Starbucks (non fat, no water, extra hot, chai latte) and watch movies in bed. And she’s always there for you. She’s there at all hours of the night when you need a friend to chat to. She’s there to find the good in your failures (like hanging your rejection letter from Med school on the fridge, because you should be proud you even applied). She comes to your engagement blessing, at church and sits through a 2 hour service even though she doesn’t believe in organised religion. She’s a great friend.
She’s in law school. She’s engaged to a guy who used to be in a band… like a real band that was nominated for a JUNO. Ya, she’s got it pretty good. And it’s her birthday!

Happy Birthday Robin! I wish I was back in Ontario, celebrating with you!
Well Thursday we put a low offer in on the house, it was not accepted but we are in negotiations…which didn’t stop the seller from having another open house on Sunday (I saw the ad online) and then lying to us and saying he had family over…ya True Story. Wednesday we should have more info.
Friday night we had the youth group from our church over for a BBQ and games night. I played Uno, Dominos, Scrabble, and payday…the old school one which isn’t fun. It’s actually stressful! You have bills to pay, and you get stocks that crash…who decided that would make a good game? Luckily I played Scrablle after Payday. It cheered me up. I love Scrabble but I can never form any words longer than 4 letters at a time. I wished I had Robin with me, she’s good at that stuff. We usually kill at Scrabble…and it’s all her.
Saturday we did nothing. I didn’t shower until 5pm. And really I only did because I was worried little kids would come trick or treating and I didn’t have a bra on yet. Inappropriate! All that work and we only had 1 trick or treating group and they were older kids, with half a**ed costumes…you know the ones.
Sunday I had to pop into school and start an experiment. John went to another open house, but the house was small. He thinks we could make it work. I’m not sure about that. It’s smaller than our current house and our office is already jam-packed with things we don’t have space for. I just want storage space…and a pantry…and a kitchen with cheery wood cabinets. Is that too much to ask?
And really that’s it. Boring right? If we move things are sure to get more interesting. I promise!
