This weekend we went camping with our church youth group in Cypress Hills. Cypress Hills is about 3 hours south east of Calgary. It’s an interprovincal park because it crosses through the Alberta-Saskatchewan border. We were staying on the Alberta side.
It snowed all night and the next day it looked like this:
We decided to stay inside the rest of the weekend. All of our plans for hiking were gone. Instead I napped, on Sunday I had 3 naps. Yesterday when we were leaving to go home, our “campsite” looked like this:
I’m glad we decided to stay inside. I wouldn’t call this trip camping. It was like staying at a friend’s house for the weekend….only you couldn’t drink the tap water. We have plans to go camping 2 more times this summer, but those times we won’t be near a mess hall or an auditorium. It will be real camping.
