I think it’s time I talk about the Nursery.
We have decided that our office will be the nursery (You can see the office here). We plan to move the office downstairs to the basement since I’ve been promised it will be finished before the baby is born. John doesn’t want me to move the office furniture to the basement until it’s mostly finished, which I understand. However, I don’t want to be finishing the nursery when I’m 9 months pregnant. I’d like to do most of the work on it the week between Christmas + New Years. That way I’m not choosing between finishing the nursery and finishing my thesis…since the nursery would win and I would NEVER graduate. So point is, I’ve given John until Christmas to finish the bones of the basement so I can move the office furniture down there. Which means no nursery work until AFTER that.
But in the meantime, I can plan. I have almost all of the Nursery furniture already. We have the crib that we bought from John’s boss (yes, it’s safe.)
Here is it, not put together in our garage. It’s just plain white.
We also have my childhood bedroom set that the baby will use when it’s not a baby anymore. It needs a few touch ups, but I’m really happy with it. It consists of a single bed, a set of drawers with a bookshelf above, a set of cupboards and a small desk. We probably won’t use the desk in the Nursery but we are going to use everything else:
We plan to set the bed up as a day bed for now, I can use it to nurse, or to sleep if the baby is having a bad night when John is back working. It is the same shape as the crib so it matches!
Here is the book shelf/ drawers, currently in use in the office. I want to replace the knobs.
