Thanks for your advice on the furniture arrangement of our bedroom. We moved the furniture on Monday night and we are loving it. It feels like we just move in! The room is not finished at all but I wanted to show you want it looks like.
When you walk in you see the tall skinny dresser (and the junk I need to put away) and our desk. I’m unsure what to do with the desk area. We NEED a bulletin board. But it was always supposed to be the temporary desk area while we finished the basement, so I didn’t want to hang anything. We won’t be finishing the basement for a few years…so can I hang stuff? Like our degrees and a bulletin board?
Looking left into the room you see my side of the bed and Henry’s Pack n Play:
Here is our bed. It’s off centre. I want it centred SO badly. John doesn’t want to block the window any more than we need to. Right now I’m OK with it being off centre so I can have the Pack N Play directly beside me and still walk to the head of the bed. But once we move Henry out of our room (which might not be until he’s 15 because I am so not ready to have him away from me) I am going to want the bed centred. Ideally I would like to hang a curtain on John’s side of the bed to mirror the window and then hang pictures in the middle. What do you guys think of that idea?
And looking back at the door is our dresser & the GIANT EYESORE of a TV. We plan to eventually get a flat screen but not in the near future and really we have no other place to put the TV…and we are TV in bed people. So sadly this is the view from the bed. (the mirror currently has no home…still working on that)
And that is that.
The Questions were:
1) Desk Area: Can I hang things even though it’s temporary but will be for a few years?
2) Bed: Should we centre it and block more of the window for symmetry sake.
3) Bed: Do you (like John) think hanging another curtain set to balance the window is stupid or brilliant?
4) What else can I do with the TV? John won’t agree to hanging it from the wall/ceiling because then when we DO get a new TV the patch work will be crazy.
