For a while now I have been feeling like our bedroom wasn’t right. I thought it was because it usually is the last place to be cleaned, and usually only gets a quick once over because we’ve run out of time. So I made it my top priority and for the past week I’ve been cleaning it. Like giving it a REAL good cleaning. I mean I vacuumed 3 times until no more dog hair came out of the carpet, I finally sorted the unpaired sock basket that has been sitting in the corner since at least February (because I found a birthday present at the bottom and my birthday is in February). I can honestly say our bedroom is CLEAN. But I’m still not happy with it.
I thought maybe it was because our bed is REALLY off centre. I’ve been wanting to hang pictures over our bed but it would look silly being so off centre.
When John got home from golfing on Saturday I told him I wanted to move the bed so it was centred. To my surprise he agreed right away. BUT he wanted to draw it out…to scale first. You know, to be sure that’s what I really wanted.
So today we measured the room, along with all our furniture and John drew it out on graph paper so I could play around with it. I liked the bed centred. But I also liked the bed on a different wall. I figured, let’s move the bed to the other wall and live with it for a month and then we can decide if we like it or not.
John didn’t like this plan. You know what he suggested? He said “write a blog post about it and see what everyone says.”
YES the man who often mutters, “you aren’t going to blog about this, are you?” suggested I ask you.
So I took really horrible photos of our graph paper cut outs. Which one do you like better?
In case you can’t read his writing: Blue is the desk, pink are 2 dressers (tall skinny one and normal one), orange is the bed and green are the side tables.
|Option2: Bed on new wall. YES the bed covers part of a window, but I feel good about it.|
What do you think?
Here is a post on the bedroom I did last year if you need to visualize it!
