William is 3 weeks old as of yesterday. Though at first reflection, I thought “nothing was really different than week 2″…I was wrong. Things are changing!
|We started Tummy Time. AKA- Eat your hands time.|
I’m pretty sure William smiled. I smiled at him and he smiled at me and then I waited for the gas to come…but it never did. Maybe it was a fluke? Maybe it was gas and I just missed it. Either way, he smiled and it made my heart melt.

William’s newborn sleepers are too short. He can’t stretch out his legs anymore. I’m pretty sure that happened overnight. Because his clothes were literally falling off him and then BAM…too small. I also got behind on laundry and ran out of newborn sleepers (did I mention this kid spits up SO MUCH?) and I had to put him in a 0-3 month one and it wasn’t too big. Then I noticed his newborn diapers are just a tad too short around his skinny little thighs. My baby is literally growing up.
Though the up side to him growing is that he won’t look so ridiculous in the 3-6 month Christmas sleepers that matches the rest of our Christmas PJs. I bought them in Dec. 2011 just before new years because they were all on sale and I hoped that I was secretly pregnant. But I wasn’t. So now we have a giant sleeper for a tiny baby. Better too big than too small!
|I love baby wearing so very much.|
William is a wonderful night sleeper. He’s got it down people. He’s sleeping from 11-3 and then 3-6 and then 6-9. It’s so wonderful.
He just started to want to be held more often. I love love love it except for when I’m trying to put Henry to sleep. Henry has started trying to squeeze between William and me when I’m putting him down for a nap or for the night. First he gives his pacifier to William, then he tries to push him away a bit so he can squeeze in. It’s nice that he gives him his pacifier first, right? But my dear sweet Henry: you can have my entire other side! It was made for you and it’s the side you are used to. So there’s that little bit of jealousy. But other than that, I think Henry forgets William is there. Sometimes we will say “oh what’s this” while holding William and when Henry comes to look he gets this big happy smile on his face. Like he just remembered William exists. So cute.

Happy 3 weeks baby William. We can’t remember life without you and we wouldn’t want to.
