30 Weeks on 05/07/14
This was a first thing in the morning photo. My photo down below in the collage was right before bed. Apparently from here on out Baby Tilly will be gaining 1/2 a pound a week. So this bump is going to get HUGE. I feel good about it.
Midwife appointment: I had an appointment on Tuesday and everything is looking good for me and Tilly. My uterus is measuring 1 week ahead (31 weeks) but that’s OK with my midwife. Tilly’s heartbeat was 130bpm. She is head down (YAY!) with her back on the right side of my belly. Her head is floating just above my pelvis, so she isn’t engaged yet but that’s good because she still has 10 weeks! For the next 6 weeks I have an appointment every other week and then weekly after that. I love getting to spend more time with my midwife Viv.We talked a little bit about birth this week and I’m so excited about it. I honestly love birthing, even though it hurts for a bit.
Feeling: I’m feeling pretty awesome. I am getting some lower back pain at night but I think it’s more because I am overdue to see the chiropractor (going today!) and my injury from Christmas is acting up. I’ve also been feeling light headed in Yoga class. Any pose where my head is lower than my shoulders makes me a little dizzy and hot. I only have 1 more class and then I will be just doing my DVD at home so I can accommodate that. My instructor also has been showing us alternative poses to keep our heads up in case of heartburn but it works for me too!
Getting it done: My mom left on Saturday but before she left we were able to sew the nursery curtains and 3 burp cloths. I have since taken down the green birds and put up the purple ones in the nursery and made a receiving blanket. I had bought all this material when I was pregnant with Henry (ya, over 3 years ago) but most of it was gender neutral so I’m using it now to make blankets for Tilly! I’m pretty into sewing. I just can’t do it while the kids are awake because they are so interested and I’m afraid they will find stray pins or pull on the fabric I’m sewing and break the needle which will then of course fly right into their eyes. Paranoid! I also sorted through the small amount of hand-me-downs I have and left them in piles by size. I just need to buy some baby detergent so I can wash what I have already. Hopefully I can get that done this week.
|Little Sneak Peek. Yes I put a head band on the deer head. Does it girlify it?|
The Big Brothers: I had a friend and her kids over for a play date. I was holding 3 month old baby Lauren and Henry was being so sweet to her and asking to hold her. It made me SO EXCITED! Henry completely ignored William when he was born, I think because he was only 19 months old. But now he’s a big 3 year old and I hope he loves on Baby Tilly like he was on Baby Lauren. William was nice to the baby too but after a few pats, he just ignored her like I expect he will do to Tilly until she is mobile.
Comparison: At 30 weeks with Henry I was still having nausea! So glad I’m not this time around. At 30 weeks with William he was head down but not anywhere near my pelvis yet. I was having heartburn and pregnancy insomnia and napping with Henry most of the time. Oh to be able to nap! I think in the comparison photos (which were all taken at night) I look the same between William and Otillia size wise…but I look lower this time around. Which is interesting since the Old Wives Tale says that you carry girls higher. But I know for a fact she IS lower because of what my midwife said about her being right above my pelvis, where William was quite far away from it at 30 weeks. (I removed the comparison because I had miss spelled Ms. Tilly’s name (Ottilia not Otillia like I keep spelling…woops!) I will re do it when I get a chance.
