Tilly turned 10 months old while we were in Ontario so I kinda forgot to post about it. I did take the pictures luckily! But now she’s 11 months old!
Also how is it almost her birthday?
Here’s what little Tilly is up to:
Food: Tilly actually choked on a piece of apple on her 11 month birthday. Like I had to take her out of her high chair and turn her upside down and pat her back until she spit it out and then threw up. So glad I took that infant CPR course again recently. Before that she was pretty much eating and chewing like a little adult. She’s down to nursing about 3 times a day. Before each nap and before bed. She hates purees but will gladly try to spoon yogurt into her mouth on her own. I would say her favouritre food is either cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches or ice cream.
Sleep: Pretty good unless she’s teething. She’s napping twice a day but if we are out she does’t normally nap (unless it’s in the car while we are driving). The time she naps varies as does the length but we just go with it. She goes to bed around 7-8ish and usually wakes around midnight and again at 6am. Sometimes she’s up for the day at 6, but other times she goes back to sleep. When she’s teething though she hardly sleeps and screams most of the night. It’s as terrible as it sounds.
Milestones: Tilly took her first steps a week before she turned 11 months old. She was teething and clingy and I HAD to put her down to talk to William about something. I put her down like 2 feet from me and she screamed and walked over to me. Those were her first steps. This girl is sassy. She doesn’t like to walk though unless it’s TO you. If she’s going anywhere on her own, she prefers to crawl. She does practice standing pretty often and she’s getting good! Also her climbing has gotten a little out of control and she somehow can scale just about anything.
Teeth: 7 total. She has her central and lateral incisors on top. She has the central incisors the left incisor on the bottom and she’s working on the bottom right incisor as I type this.
Words: Tilly says Mom, Dada and Ya.
Personality/Loves/Hates: She is so happy and independent unless she’s tired or teething. She’s like the happiest a baby could possibly be, and then she gets tired and she starts screaming at you and it’s like the most miserable a baby can be. She’s the extremes and I’m just glad that we usually get the happy side. She will play on her own most of the time. Just crawling from one pile of toys to another. She’s really into the play kitchen right now because of all the stuff she can find in the cupboards and throw onto the ground. She gets really mad when she can’t open OUR cupboards since they are child proofed. She knows what she wants and she can’t be distracted away from it.
Brothers: She always wants to be near the boys and most of the time they love it but sometimes they just yell “Tilly’s in my way, Mom!” “Tilly! You can’t sit on the car mat!” “Tilly! Don’t eat trains! They’re not food!”. I find it very entertaining. She really loves when they involve her in a kissing war. Which means they both just kiss her like crazy and she laughs hysterically and then tries to kiss them. She’s started stealing their snacks and they really don’t like that. She’s aggressive with food. Same with their cups. Even if her cup has the same stuff in it, she will throw hers and try to take theirs. A new thing she does is cry for them at the bottom of the stairs. If they are upstairs playing trains or if one of us is putting the boys to bed, Tilly will just cry at the baby gate. She misses them!
Nicknames: Tilly, Tilly-Roo, Tilly-Boo, Lady, Baby Tilly
Songs: I often sing the song Cecilia By Simon and Garfunkle when Tilly is freaking out… but with these words: “Ottilia, your breaking my heart, your shaking my confidence lately. Oh Ottilia, I’m down on my knees, begging you please just stop screaming.” I also sing Baby Mine from Dumbo to her but I’ve sang that to all our kids. There are many more songs that I’ll have to think of for her next post. I don’t want to forget them!
I can’t believe that we are already at 11 months! We love you baby Tilly. I’m such a mix of emotions when I think about you growing up. I’m so excited to have a daughter and do mother-daughter stuff. I’m so excited to see who you become. But I’m so sad that you are my last baby and you aren’t really a baby anymore. Just keep letting me wrap you to my chest and I’ll be OK. I think.
