Sorry for the lack of posts over here. I feel busy but then look back and feel like I’ve done nothing… You know? Is that just the life of a mom with tons of kids? Possibly.
- Projects. We’ve been getting a few projects checked off our to-do list. John built a table for our portable BBQ. Our normal BBQ blew over in one of the many Hail Storms we’ve had this year and it was done. So we figured we could use our portable one for a while. But I didn’t want it always on our patio table, so John built this beauty: I’ve been wanting a screen door for our front door, so we could get some airflow through our house. We bought a plain one last summer and I’ve been meaning to paint it ever since. I finally did it (it took me at least 6 hours because of all the details) and I hung it myself! John needs to tweak it a bit, but it works! We actually have wind through our house now and on hot days it’s wonderful! At the beginning of the year one of our wonderful neighbours gave everyone sunflower seeds in a Random Act of Kindness. John built planter boxes for them and they are HUGE now despite the damage caused by hail. I can’t wait for them all to flower! John’s planter boxes are so beautiful though! He’s a pretty handy guy to have around. He even let the boys help him.
- We went to Canmore this weekend and stayed over night. We ate at our favourite restaurant there –The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company, swam in our hotel water park, and did a little window shopping. We also had the chance to have our family photos taken by my good Friend Rachelle of Rachelle Rousseau Photography. She’s from Ontario and did our wedding photos, but since we moved out here we haven’t been able to get our photos done by her! (Good thing we found Whit here, she’s eqaully as amazing). Luck would have it that Rachelle was here to visit some family. She asked us to meet her in Canmore for some photos and we did! We had about 30 minutes of sunshine in-between smoke from the Washington Wild Fires and the Rain. I can’t believe they turned out so well.I also found this W for our gallery wall while we were window shopping. It was on sale and I couldn’t say no. It’s so hard to photograph glass in front of a window! Hello glare! But there is my W. I love it so much.
