Hi Everyone! How’s your week?
Tuesday is usually our crazy busy day, but not today! Tomorrow is Remembrance Day and a holiday here in Alberta, so the week seems a little bit slower because of it (at least for me).
What’s going on around here? Not too much really. On Friday William had his first dentist appointment. He was quite sure he didn’t want to go and fought me the whole day before and the morning of. Sure enough, when we got there and I told them how nervous he was, he just laid back and opened his mouth like he’d done it a million times. He got 2 treasures for being so good.
Since Saturday I’ve been dealing with what I would certainly categorize as first world problems. Tilly found my iPhone and decided to put it in the Dog’s water bowl. John found it a while later. It still worked but the touch screen wasn’t responding to my touch so we threw it in some rice and waited to see. Sadly it didn’t improve and I needed to get a new one (luckily I was due for an upgrade anyways so the price was right). The store was closed Sunday so I didn’t get a new one until Monday. I felt so strangely out of touch with the world since we recently got rid of our home phone. John and I spent all Sunday discussing who should take the 1 remaining cell phone.
-Should the phone say with the person out and about incase of emergency? Or should it stay at home with the kids for the same reason?
-If we are apart we can’t even contact each other because we only have 1 phone.
-John recently reset his phone in preparation for a job change and so he didn’t have any contacts. So even with the 1 phone, we could only contact people who contacted us first.
It was honestly quite surprising to me how effected by it I felt! And I feel ridiculous even saying that! I got a new one Monday and all is well and good again. Life is back to normal.
On an unrelated note, am I the only Stay at Home Mom who’s house routinely looks like this in the evenings? I desperately want to purge my kid’s toys. I know we can get rid of our baby toys and a few broken toys at least!. But the task of sorting through them is so daunting to me. What’s your method moms?
